How I Automated My Entire Household with AI
Bills, appointments, reminders, health tracking. How a solo founder and father of two built an AI system that manages his household while he focuses on what matters.
I run a one-person company. I have a wife, a 2-year-old daughter, and a second baby arriving in June. I live in Poland as a foreigner, which means every administrative task comes with an extra layer of complexity (different language, different systems, different deadlines).
I was drowning. Not in work. In the invisible tasks that nobody talks about.
The Breaking Point
Three things happened in the same month:
- I paid the electricity bill 6 days late
- I missed my car's technical inspection deadline
- I forgot my daughter's vaccination appointment
None of these are hard. They just require remembering. And when you are running a company, managing a household, and being present for your family, your brain runs out of slots for "remember to pay the water bill on the 18th."
What I Built
I built an AI system called Casa (Spanish for "home"). It is a Telegram bot that knows everything about my household:
Every bill, every deadline, every appointment.
- 12 recurring bills with exact amounts, due dates, and payment methods
- 8 recurring tasks (car inspection, heating check, tax filings, insurance renewals)
- All family appointments (medical checkups, prenatal visits)
- A database of household notes (important phone numbers, document expiry dates)
Every morning at 8am, if something needs my attention in the next 3 days, Casa sends me a message. If nothing is due, it stays silent. Silence is a feature.
How It Works in Practice
Monday morning, 8:00 AM:
Casa: Water + sewage due in 3 days (March 18). 255 PLN. Bank transfer. Osiedla payment due in 3 days (March 10). 62 PLN.
I pay them. I type /paid water and /paid osiedla. Done.
My wife asks:
"What do we need to do this week?"
She does not know any commands. She just types that question in natural language. Casa understands and responds with a clean weekly summary.
I forget something? Casa does not.
Every bill has a 3-day advance reminder. Overdue items are flagged. Appointments get reminders at 7 days and 1 day before.
What Changed
In the first week:
- Zero late payments
- Zero missed appointments
- Zero mental overhead for household management
- My wife can check the family schedule without asking me
That last point matters more than you think. Before Casa, I was the single point of failure for all household knowledge. "When is the car inspection?" "How much is the electricity?" "Did we pay the accountant?" All questions that went through me.
Now they go through Casa. Both of us have the same information, instantly.
The Cost
The entire system runs on a server that costs $5 per month. Casa itself uses zero AI API calls for daily operations. It is pure database queries and templates. The AI was used to build it, not to run it.
Total monthly cost: $5.
Compare that to the late fees, the stress, the arguments about "did you pay that bill?", and the occasional missed medical appointment.
Could This Work for You?
If you have bills to pay, appointments to track, and tasks that repeat, then yes. You do not need to be technical. You do not need to understand databases or servers.
I set it up. You use it through Telegram. Your partner can use it too.
